Hong Kong Young Chefs

In Hong Kong we had two big competitions over the last few months.  The Norwegian Seafood Competition and also the Tabasco HotChefs Team Challenge.  Both were highly successful and brought in a lot of new members.  The winner of the Norwegian Seafood Competition was sent to Norway for a visit and also got to attend the Bocuse d'Or.  The winning team of Tabasco's competition will go to Singapore in November to compete against their finalists.

 

We're working on making chef jackets for our members (currently about 150) and getting sponsors to help pay for the costs.  We're putting on logos from the sponsors to make the jackets more "colourful" and appealing to our young members. 

 

We've also got a social event coming up to try and bring all our members together for the first time in one place.  It'll probably be an educational visit to an organic farm, along with a beachside barbecue.  Next week we have an "industry night" celebrating Oktoberfest.
